[edit] Introduction

Purdue Collective of Installation Artists is a loose group of people who alter public space. Our manifesto is under progress. Members propose ideas at our meetings. If people become passionate, the group makes the idea a reality. This wiki is a repository for Purdue CIA conversation, knowledge, project ideas, and 'institutional memory'.

Everyone can edit everything. You don't need to log in or create an account. Just click the 'Edit' link in a section you want to add to. It's simple. Will you help maintain this repository?

This list was seeded with the original PDF handout. Please help convert it onto this wiki. Here is Handout 1 and Handout 2.

[edit] Recent News

  • Purdue CIA will be participating in the upcoming student-organized Tent Festival on the Memorial Mall. The event is a collaboration between various like-minded campus groups to display and foster an independent student culture, as an alternative to traditional university-sponsored events. Hopefully, the festival will be able to showcase a different, more vibrant, and more progressive face of Purdue to the student body and the general public. The event is based on free expression, and is not directed by Purdue CIA or any other group. The non-hierarchical organization and spontaneity of the event is strongly emphasized. In fact, anybody can influence the event by participating and expressing themselves, you can even edit the event's wiki page yourself to suggest your ideas or list your student group or yourself as participants. Furthermore, the festival can serve as a base for flash mobs, art shows, performances among many other things. Being an open ended project, the possibilities are inexhaustible. Several Purdue CIA projects and ideas can be done in conjunction with this event. All those ideas are categorized here: Category : Tent Festival Ideas

[edit] Institutional Memory

Institutional memory is how a group codifies understanding for the future.

For example: What have we learned to make a flash mob successful? What should we do in the fall to recruit new members? How should all meetings be similar to create good habits and rigidify critical group functions?
